Hazardous Packaging

Hazardous Packaging

Hazardous packaging is essential for the transportation of materials including solids, liquids, or gases that can harm people, other living organisms, property, or the environment.

Other materials which need to be packaged correctly include radioactive, flammable, explosive or corrosive, oxidizers or asphyxiants, biohazardous, toxic, pathogen or allergen substances and organisms. All these substances are subject to chemical regulations.

Hazardous materials therefore need to be packaged correctly with the correct precautions depending on the type of hazardous materisl being shipped. Hazardous materials are divided into classes on the basis of the specific chemical characteristics producing the risk.
